ROADMATE /
As a point of convergence and departure, “Road” is the central metaphoric string of humanity. The path to commerce, economic and spiritual journeys are in marriage with the “Road” of every soul (lower and higher animal) in existence.
In this series, I am questioning my movement through time and space which make use of lines and patterns both natural and artificial as curves and corners of my soul travelling through time within its space. I yearn for liberation from mirage and fuse of life.
This multiple exposure collage doubles as physical and metaphysical portraiture of the subjects who conduct activities in commercial buses both in Ghana (Mates) and Nigeria (Conductors), although their job description is the same but mannerism distinct them from one another. In these people I see my true nature and structure of my life’s lines and patterns.
